Special Session on
Customized Immersive Environments: Skills Development
 - CIESD 2022

6 - 8 February, 2022

Within the 17th International Joint Conference on Computer Vision, Imaging and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications - VISIGRAPP 2022

Alvaro Joffre Uribe Quevedo
University of Ontario Institute of Technology

Immersive technologies (including virtual, augmented, mixed, and extended reality are becoming ubiquitous. Currently, education, training, and healthcare constitute application areas where immersive users into virtual worlds allow them to experience ] scenarios otherwise impossible or impractical in real life. however, consumer-level immersive technologies present a one-size-fits-all that can negatively impact skills development. Such as scenario can cause a higher cognitive load associated with human factors that ultimately impact skills development. To overcome this limitation, research has been focusing on the adaptability and customization of human factors. This Special Session will focus on immersive technologies customization applied to serious games and virtual simulations, and the potential impact on skills development.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Human Factors
  • Virtual Reality
  • Augmented Reality
  • Mixed Reality
  • Extended Reality
  • Simulation
  • Serious Games
  • Cognitive Load
  • Usability
  • User Experience

Available soon.

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in any of the topics listed above.
